About Hilton
Hilton Hotels serves users on a global scale helping individuals and groups experience cities world wide by booking hotel rooms, meeting room spaces, and event spaces on their online platform.
Hilton was seeking to build a new product that would help event planners manage their events online.
The Challenge
When it comes to managing events in hotels, event planners have their work cut out for them. Having to manage different aspects within the events space from vendors, event attendees, venue details, design, and marketing, time isn’t always on their side.
Solving every pain point experienced by the planners wasn’t within the scope of the project, but, there was still a significant burden we could take off their shoulders.
Through a new initiative event planners could allow event attendees to become self-sufficient by booking their own rooms and gathering event details. This would give valuable time back to the planner and give more control to the event attendees.
The Solution
The new event management system would allow planners to build an event website page after an event was booked at a Hilton property. After an event was booked, the planner would create an event landing page from their Hilton account.
This process took users through four steps once they logged into their account. Users were able to confirm thier most recent booking, enter the event details within the CMS, preview the link before submisison, and the final confirmation which allowed users to share the event to their attendees.
Outcome
The final concepts went through a few rounds of user testing.
For each session users were instructed to create an event page through the CMS. During this process we could assess each participant's behavior as they interacted with our prototype.
Based on user feedback our users found a tremendous amount of value with the new product. Participants spoke highly of the user experience, the impact this would have on their guest, and enjoyed that this would make them come across as more professional.
